LIBRARY GIVING TREE FOR VINNIES: The Library Committee boys are working hard on promoting a Giving Tree that will start on Monday 16 November in the library. We are asking for donations of new or as new toys and books and non-perishable food and hygiene items. These will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) to distribute to families for Christmas. We would appreciate if families would support this initiative.
NZQA EXAMINATIONS: All students doing NCEA examinations have received their Examination Code Slip and Instruction Sheet with the examination timetable. Please check the examination timetable regularly so that there is no chance of your son missing an exam. Morning exams start at 9.30am and afternoon exams at 2.00pm. Students need to be here 30 minutes prior to their exam. They must bring their Examination Code slip. Year 11 and Year 12 students must wear proper school uniform to exams. Year 13 students may wear mufti to exams.
Derived Grades – if your son is not able to sit the examination because he is sick, had an accident, or there was some other special situation you should let the Assistant Rector, Ms Sarah Parkinson know straight away and apply for a Derived Grade. The same applies if having sat the examination he did not do as well as he could have due to sickness. In these cases, complete an application form which needs to be completed by a doctor within 24 hours. The application forms can be collected from the College, or can be downloaded from the NZQA website.
DATES TO DIARY:
SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP: The Second-hand Uniform Shop is very short on stock, of all uniform items and sizes. We would be very grateful if you could donate any uniform items that you will no longer require especially if your son is finishing Year 13 or leaving College. Profits from the uniform shop go back to the school in the form of scholarships to students, grants to specific projects, support and hospitality at college functions, and uniforms for families in need.
Please consider donating any good quality blazers, jackets, shirts, PE tops / shorts, trousers etc. Please drop your uniform items into the College reception. We will consider purchasing blazers ($110) and jackets ($50) if they are in very good condition and blazers must be dry-cleaned with the ticket still attached. A Purchase Agreement form must be completed and left with the item(s) at the College reception, see our page on the College website for more information. Thank you so much for your support of the Second Hand Uniform Shop.
