Tēnā koutou katoa

As of midday today the College will activate the Prime Minister’s announcement moving us into Alert Level 2.

We will be following the guidelines as outlined by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education. We will take precautions and have hand sanitisers and cleaning products to wipe down hard surfaces available in every classroom. All desks will be separated in all classrooms for physical distancing. Due to the nature of the Art and technology classrooms this may not be  practical.

We ask that all students continue to practice good hygiene in the form of:

  • Coughing or sneezing into their elbow.
  • Washing and drying hands regularly; and more importantly,
  • If your son is feeling unwell that he stays at home.
  • Face masks can be worn at school if you would like your son to wear one.
  • Metlink have confirmed that physical distancing will not be required on school services.

We have support available from our staff if your son is feeling anxious. Specifically, our Guidance Counsellor Chris Fouhy, College Priest, Fr. Pat Brophy and HOD of Learning Support, Michelle Duffy, or senior leaders.

The Mass for the Feast of the Assumption that was scheduled for this Friday has been postponed. We will notify you of a later date.

Sports training will continue as normal. College Sport Wellington will send an update later today regarding competition/events that will take place in the next 72 hours and looking ahead to the weekend.

There will be updates from the Government over the next 72 hours. As the information comes in I ask for your patience as we work through to ensure the health and safety of our community.

I ask for your prayers and support for our community, our city, our country and our world as we endure during this pandemic.

Ngā mihi nui
