125TH JUBILEE – 125 YEARS CELEBRATED, 4-6 June 2010

During Queen’s Birthday weekend 2010 St Pat’s became home once again to hundreds of visiting Old Boys celebrating 125 years of education at this College.

It was heartening for the organising committee and all the numerous volunteers to see so many smiling faces, proudly wearing their lanyards and merino blue and white striped scarves, swapping stories, catching up on news, watching the sport fixtures, and poring over the displays.

The Friday night ‘Blues Brothers Bash’ and Saturday’s Jubilee Dinner were highly successful. The Jubilee Dinner saw 850 dining at the TSB Arena and entertained by Old Boys MC Tim Gordon (1968-72), Denis Clifford (1965-69), Alex Fala (1992-96), and Fr Craig Larkin (1956-60). They all spoke with passion, conviction, and, as always with our Patricians, great humour.

On Sunday the rain finally arrived, which didn’t seem to matter for the 900 who attended the Jubilee Mass. Celebrated by over 30 Marists, the Mass was the final ‘official’ function of the weekend and it was most fitting that the celebrations concluded with this.
