DATES TO DIARY:
PARENTS OF PATRICIAN EVENING: All parents of our Year 9 students are asked to attend our next POP evening at 7:00pm on Tuesday the 25th September. Join us in the staffroom for wine and cheese followed by a presentation from Netsafe New Zealand focusing on ways our school community can help promote digital safety. The presentation will cover a range of topics including the shifting digital landscape, what is needed to develop confident, capable, digital citizens, how parents and whānau can support and enable their children, and how to negotiate boundaries with your sons. This is a great opportunity for parents.
SPORTS PRIZEGIVING: Our annual Sports Prizegiving will take place on Thursday 27 September at 7pm in the College Hall. All our sportsmen in every code are strongly encouraged to attend. All Premier One Team members should attend. Students wear formal uniform. Guest speakers are well known rugby player and old boy brothers – Matt and Billy Proctor. Parents and friends of the College are very welcome.
ACADEMIC PROGRESS: Senior students are finishing off most internal assessments this week so in Term 4 we can concentrate on preparing students for external exams. Tracking sheets showing each student’s NCEA credits to date will be sent home on Friday 28 September. Senior school exams take place in Week One of Term 4.
ST PATRICK’S ART EXHIBITION: Have you, your family, and friends, got your tickets? Go to Eventfinda.co.nz There will be door sales tonight. Support the College and join us for a great evening out this evening from 6.30pm – 9.30pm in the School Hall. Tickets are $25 which includes light refreshments and entertainment from St Patrick’s musical talent. View over 160 artworks, including ceramics and jewellery, from top artists. St Patrick’s students will also exhibit.
YEAR 13 LEAVERS FORMAL: Saturday 13 October 2018 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Grey Street, Wellington. The function starts at 6pm and finishes at midnight. The theme is Stars and Stripes, the guest speaker is Luigi Cacace and the DJ is Arturo Santos. Dress attire is black tie / formal. Permission letters were given to students on Tuesday and tickets can be purchased from the College Cashier. Tickets are only available for purchase between 12 to 26 September from the cashier. We expect NZQA fees and sports fees to be fully paid before tickets can be purchased. The cost of student tickets is $110 per person and parent tickets are $25 per person. Year 13 parents are invited to attend from 6-7.30pm to have a formal photo taken. The ticket includes 1 welcome drink and canapes between 6.30-7pm only. Cash bar will be available. Year 13 student ticket price includes: venue hire, canapes between 6.30-7pm, 2 course set menu, photo booth hire, DJ, lighting and theming.
SPC WOMEN’S GROUP: Would you like to use your skills and creativity to give back to the school? Have you thought about joining the Women’s Group? (don’t be put off by the current name of the group – men and women are welcome!) We are looking for mums, dads and whanau to help plan next year’s Mother-Son dinner, get involved in the running of the 2nd Hand Uniform Shop, provide hospitality at several college events, and much more. Come and find out what we are all about and celebrate the end of the financial year with us on Monday 15 October (the first day of term 4!) in the College staff room for drinks and nibbles at 7.15pm, followed by our AGM at 7:30. Nomination submissions are now open for Women’s Group Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and other Committee roles for 2019.
