Parent Weekly Update 23 November

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

DATES TO DIARY:

  • Today – Friday 23 November: The PPTA will be holding a union meeting for secondary school teachers this afternoon at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua. As a result, we cannot run normal classes so students will be released at 12.10pm today. There will be no school buses available so students will need to make their own way home.
  • Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 November: Year 10 Watters Camp and then Year 10 Chanel Camp Wednesday till Friday 30 November.
  • Wednesday 28 November: Board of Trustees meeting at 6pm in the Colin Boardroom. Parents are most welcome to attend.
  • Thursday 29 November: FOSPC Christmas BBQ for Year 9 parents in 2019 at 6pm in the staff room.

YEAR 10 RETREAT: A letter has been sent home this week to give information about the Year 10 Retreat. This will be held on Wednesday 28 November for Year 10 students in Kennedy and Redwood and on Wednesday 5 December for Year 10 students in Chanel and Watters. The Retreat will focus on “Social Justice”. It will be held at school, during normal school hours and students may wear mufti. Lunch will be provided. Challenge 2000 will be running the Retreat with teacher support.

REMINDER: “The Battalion” – Auditions for “The Battalion” – a play which will be performed next year by our students and girls from St Mary’s College – will take place on 8-9 December at St Mary’s College Hall, 9am-3pm. All students welcomed.

This Sunday, 25 November, is the “Feast of Christ the King”. It is a reminder to us of the importance of our Faith – our allegiance should be the spiritual – to Jesus Christ whose “Kingship” is based not on human power but on serving others. I would encourage you all to go to Mass on Sunday.

Sectare Fidem

Kind regards,
