Sibling rivalry – an age-old problem! Pharaohs, famine, foretelling dreams and questionable fashion taste in coats! The Old Testament has it all. The story of Jacob and his sons and the put-upon Joseph comes to the St Patrick’s College stage in Term Three.
The story is of Joseph, the favoured son of Jacob but who falls foul of his brothers when he is given a multicoloured coat by his father. Sold into slavery, Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams makes him a favourite of Pharaoh and his success is assured. When famine hits the land and Joseph’s brothers come-a-calling the scene is set for Joseph to get his own back….
Including songs such as
• Any Dream Will Do
• One More Angel in Heaven
• Benjamin Calypso
• Close Every Door to Me
This show has been a West End and Broadway hit and is a much loved work of the fantastic partnership of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
So come and go ‘way way back many centuries ago, not long after the Bible began’ and wallow in Old Testament shenanigans…
