We have had an enjoyable first week back at school for Term 2.
YEAR 9 ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS: Enrolments for 2020 close on Friday 2 August. Enrolment application forms are available on the College website or you can collect a Prospectus from the College office. Please encourage families with Year 8 boys to enrol their sons with us for 2020.
DATES TO DIARY: Monday 29 July – ERO visit commences. Parents’ Association meeting in the staffroom at 7.30pm. Tuesday 30 July – Tu Tangata Festival at Michael Fowler Centre at 6.30pm. Wednesday 31 July – Cultural and Sports Blues to be awarded at assembly. Friday 2 August – Mufti Day for the Home of Compassion. A gold coin or cash donation is expected.
EDUCATION REVIEW OFFICE 2019 REVIEW: Over the next two weeks 4 Reviewers from the Education Review Office will be visiting the College to carry out an external evaluation of our College. Their intent is to ensure that all our students can be successful. They will be meeting with Board members, senior staff, and some teachers and students – visiting classes and looking through our documentation. We look forward to their review to help us ensure we are doing the best we can for our students.
FOUNDATION ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER AND AUCTION – Saturday 24 August: Auction items requested. We are currently seeking auction items for the Benefit Dinner. We run both live and silent auctions on the night. Cinema tickets, meal deals, holiday homes, a coffee machine and adventure experiences are some of the previously auctioned items. If you or someone in your network could support us by donating, we can auction it. All proceeds from the auction support the Foundation. We raise money each year for a variety of causes, including assisting students who cannot afford to buy Chromebooks, teacher aides, development of the Learning Support Department for students with learning difficulties or where English is not the first language, investment in sports coaches, sporting, musical and educational equipment, music scholarships, and assistance with any building maintenance and development required.
Tickets for the dinner are on sale now. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to secure your tickets. They are $80 each and include a glass of bubbles on arrival, canapes, a seated two course meal and table wine. We have been very lucky to secure Sir Bryan Williams as the guest speaker and have some fabulous student-led entertainment lined up. Join us for a fabulously fun evening.
FOSPC (Friends of St Patrick’s College) Mother and Son Dinner will be held in the College hall on Thursday 8 August, starting at 7pm: Guest Speaker: Dave Greenberg, from the Westpac Wellington Rescue Helicopter. Tickets are $35 per person, this includes dinner, spot prizes and entertainment. To order your tickets, simply email the SPC Cashier: email@example.com or pop into the school office to purchase a ticket, during school hours. We are seeking donations for the Mother and Son dinner spot prizes. If you can donate an item or a voucher please drop the item into the school office, before Friday 26 July 2019.
ST PATRICK’S COLLEGE SPORTS SALE: Donate now|Save the date: 10am-2pm, Saturday 17 August. Now is the time to donate your pre-loved sports gear and clothing (all codes included) in good and clean condition. Drop items in the clearly-marked tub in the college office between now and 16 August. Smaller items e.g. boots, sports clothes, cricket bats and pads, hockey sticks, goggles, snorkels, balls, shin pads, kit bags etc., (anything smaller than a bike) can be dropped off. For larger items email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time and place for drop-off. If you’re not sure whether or not your donation is appropriate for the sports sale, please email us to check.
