Weekly Update 13 September

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Thank you to the parents and students who attended the Course Selection Evening on Tuesday night.  I hope you found it helpful in selecting subjects for next year.  We need every Year 9-12 studentto have selected his options for 2020 on the Parent Portal by Sunday night. 

FAMILY MASS THIS SUNDAY: Please support the Friends of St Patrick’s College who have organised a Family Mass for this Sunday, 15 September in the College Chapel at 11am.  Students are not required towear uniform. Mass will be followed by a light luncheon afterwards in the College staffroom.  All are welcome.

DATES TO DIARY:
Monday 16 September – FOSCP meeting in the staffroom at 7.45pm.  
Tuesday 17 September – the Parents of Patrician for Year 9 parents will be held in the College staffroom at 7pm.
Wednesday 18 September – ‘Youth helping Youth’ concert from 7 to 9pm in the St Patrick’s College Hall with all proceeds going to support the work of the Youth helpline.  There will be performances fromSt Patrick’s, St Catherine’s, Wellington East and Rongotai College students.  Tickets are $10 each and there will be light refreshments available for purchase.  This will be a great concert. 

PARENTS OF PATRICIAN’S EVENING for Year 9 parents (or any other parents who would like to come). Tuesday at 7pm in the staffroom for a 7.30pm start.  Wine/juice and nibbles available from 7pm.This should be an enjoyable night.  We have 6 staff speakers as we “unpack” our 5 College values and explain why they are important for our students. 

ADVANCE NOTICE: Our choir Con Anima are performing in a combined choirs choir concert with Samuel Marsden Collegiate School, Karori on Tuesday 24 September.  The choirs from each school willperform their own repertoire as well as some combined pieces.  Details: Samuel Marsden School, Karori, Auditorium, 7.30-8.15pm – free entry. 

YEAR 13 FORMAL: the Year 13 Formal is to be held on Saturday 28 September at Te Papa.  Tickets are $120 and can be purchased from the College Cashier.  Ticket sales close off today.  Between6-7.30pm parents are invited to join us.  You will receive a welcome drink and canapés.  Parent tickets are $30.  A photographer will be available during this time.

MEASLES IMMUNISATION: Please follow up our request for your son’s immunisation records (see details on our website). KNOWLEDGE SHOP

NCEA 1 and 2 EXAM PREPARATION PROGRAMME.  Only 3 weeks to go. This highly successful programme will be run by Knowledge Shop in the first week of the upcomingholidays from Monday 30 September to Friday 4October.  Visit our website at www.knowledgeshopnz.co.nz for the programme timetable, cost and further details.  All bookings can be made online.
