NEW RECTOR

It is with pleasure that the Board of Trustees announce the appointment of Mr Mike Savali as the 25th Rector of St Patrick’s College Wellington. Mr Savali is currently the Assistant Rector of St Patrick’s College Silverstream. He is a proud Old Boy of our College and a former Religious Education teacher and Director of Religious Studies. Mr Savali will start at St Patrick’s College in the new year.

We are grateful for the support and prayers of the community during this important process and we look forward to working with Mr Savali in the coming years.

Mr John Campbell

DATES TO DIARY:

  • Monday 18 November: FOSPC meeting at 7.45pm in the staffroom and Year 10 Redwood Camp from Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 November and Watters Camp from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 November.

YEAR 10 RETREATS: All St Patrick’s College boys spend at least some time on Retreat each year. This year our Year 10 students from Chanel and Kennedy Houses will have their Retreat day on Wednesday 20 November, and Watters and Redwood will have their Retreat day on Wednesday 27 November. While it is a school day, the boys are permitted to wear mufti for the day. The Retreat lasts all day and is held on College property, in the chapel and in the MSP gym. It will be led by the Youth Team from Challenge2000 with help from College teachers. The Retreat focuses on justice and peace, using reflections, games and other activities. The Retreats are school activities and rolls will be taken. The day finishes at 3.20pm. Lunch will be provided for the boys that day. They will need a drink and a snack for interval. Parents are asked not to schedule out of school commitments for their sons on these days.

FAREWELL FUNCTION FOR THE RECTOR: The Board of Trustees would like to invite members of our College community to attend Mr Swindells’ farewell on Wednesday 4 December in the College hall at 5.30pm. The function is from 5.30-7pm and will provide the community with an opportunity to acknowledge Mr Swindells contribution as Rector to the life of St Patrick’s College. There will be some short speeches, entertainment and light refreshments. All are welcome. If you are planning to attend could you please RSVP to admin@stpats.school.nz so that we have an idea of catering numbers.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP: The Second-hand Uniform Shop is very short on stock, especially the larger sizes. We would be very grateful if you could donate any uniform items that you will no longer require especially if your son is finishing Year 13 or leaving College. Please consider donating any good quality blazers, jackets, PE tops / shorts, or trousers. Profits from the uniform shop go back to the school in the form of scholarships to students, grants to specific projects, support and hospitality at college functions, and uniforms for families in need. We will consider purchasing blazers ($110) and jackets ($50) if they are in very good condition and blazers must be dry-cleaned with the ticket still attached. Complete a Purchase Agreement Form. Please drop your uniform items into the college reception and see our page on the College website for more information. Thank you so much for your support of the Second Hand Uniform Shop.

We wish to advise that we are opening the SPC Second Hand Uniform shop, on the following dates:

  • Friday 6 December, 1.30 – 2.30pm
  • Saturday 18 January 2020, 10 – 12noon.
