Weekly Update 30 August

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As you now know, I informed our Board of Trustees this week that I will be resigning as Rector of the College at the end of this year. It has been a real privilege to lead the College for the last six years and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our students, with you our parents, with staff, old boys and the wider community as we have tried to grow our boys into good young men and to give them opportunities to develop their talents. As you know I love the Marist spirituality of the College.

It has been a tough decision to leave but after over 21 years as a Principal I do want to look for new opportunities, and I do want to spend more time with my growing family.

I will leave the College in very good heart. We have just had an excellent ERO Review. We have a wonderful staff, a very capable group of people on our Boards, and in our stakeholder groups, and of course awesome students.

The Board are beginning the process of appointing a new Rector with a hope that an appointment will be made during Term 4 to start at the beginning of 2020. I would ask that you keep the College in your prayers in the coming months as a new Rector is appointed. I will of course do my best to ensure we finish this year well and that all is in place for the incoming Rector.

FOUNDTION DINNER: Thank you so much to those families who supported our annual Foundation Dinner. It was a really enjoyable evening with 250 people attending and Sir Bryan Williams was an outstanding guest speaker. Approximately $30,000 was raised for our St Patrick’s College Foundation.

The sale was well received within and beyond the college community. Watch this space for further sales in the future!
