SENIOR FUTSAL WIN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
On Sunday the senior boys futsal team went through to the finals of the Wellington Regional competition unbeaten. They then beat a very polished Wellington College team 3 – 1 to become Regional Champions - a great confidence booster ahead of the National tournament which starts tomorrow (Thursday) at the ASB Indoor Arena. Thanks go to coach, and St Pat's Old Boy, Matt Fejos, who has done a great job of getting the team physically and mentally prepared for each event. And 'well done' to all the team - a fantastic effort!
1st XI TOO GOOD AGAIN FOR ST BEDE'S
The First XI cricket team had a thrilling 5 wicket win against St Bede's in Christchurch this week. Needing 6 runs to win off the last over, Jack Nelson-Murray hit the winning run off the last ball. Scores were: St Bede's 99 and 87 all out. St Pat's 107 and 80 for 5.
There were several outstanding individual efforts by the St Pat's team. Opening bowler Jack Anderson had match figures of 9 wickets for 46 runs and in a very low scoring game, Jack Jacobs top scored in the match with a quality innings of 39 in the St Pat's first innings. Keeper Jack Nelson-Murray had seven dismissals with 6 catches and a stumping.
This was the second win in a row against St Bede's for our First XI in Christchurch after waiting 18 years since the previous one.
