SILVER IN CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD
Congratulations to St Patrick college student Matthew Evans (Yr 12) for winning a silver award in the Chemistry Olympiad. He receives a silver certificate for being in the 75-90 percentiles of those students who took part in the national competition held in October 2014.
The 47th Chemistry Olympiad Competition will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, in July 2015 and will involve a team of four students representing New Zealand. Each year about 80 to 90 students are selected nationally to form a training group to prepare for selection to represent New Zealand in this International competition. Matthew has gained a place in the training group through his achievement in the competition.
We are very pleased with his achievement and wish him an enjoyable time during training and preparation and best wishes for selection in the New Zealand team. Well done Matthew, you are a star!
