Congratulations to Alessandro Esposito

Congratulations to Year 13 student Alessandro Esposito, who produced some world class backstroke performances at the just completed Junior Pan Pacs in Hawaii.

Swimming in an outdoor pool, Alessandro placed 15th in both the 100m and 200m backstroke events. He was the second Kiwi home in both races, with times of 58.50s in the 100m and 2min 09.03s in the 200m.

Alessandro also placed 43rd in the 100m free.

The 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, which brought together swimmers from Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States, New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, and Singapore, were hosted by the US. in Honolulu, Hawaii.

It was open to athletes aged 13-18 as of December 31st of the competition year.
