Thanking our turf donors
The Foundation, together with the College, last week hosted an event in the McGuinness Foyer to acknowledge donors who had generously supported the resurfacing of the school's artificial turf. This facility, integral to daily student life, also serves the Wellington sporting community.
Foundation interim chair, Matt Buck, acknowledged the donors' contributions, saying, ‘We have this turf because so many individuals and whānau in our wider community made it happen over a decade ago. And many of the same people have once again given willingly to ensure that we continue to have a top-grade asset. This is available to use not only by our students but by a huge sporting population, including many thousands of children from around Wellington. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to everyone who donated, including the Wellington City Council for their ongoing investment.’
Among the guests were alumni who we are always delighted to welcome back to the College, and we thank them for their continued interest in and support of today's students. This included Tom Mahony, a multi-generational Patrician and former chair of the Foundation, who performed the ribbon cutting duties.
