2022 Academic Achievements

At our 2022 Senior Prizegiving last night, Ruben Manz was annouced as the 2022 Dux of the College, along with Proximae Accessit (joint winners) Dimitri Economou and Joshua Sison.

It was a jubilant event as our kura and community came together to celebrate the successes of our young men, along with special guests Cardinal John Dew, Councillor Teri O’Neill from the Wellington City Council, Tim Gordon the Chair of the Marist Senate, Shane Dinnan the Chair of the Board of Proprietors, Heston Stanley the Chair of the Board of Trustees and Fr Ron Bennett, Parish Priest of Otari.

Guests were entertained with wonderful jazz kindly provided by ‘The College Jazz Band’ prior to the event starting.  Throughout the evening’s proceedings musical interludes were further showcased by Ruben Manz (Piano) and Leonard Youkhana (Violin) who preformed “Violin Sonata No. 6 First Movement”;  Sam Glynan’s guitar solo of the rock ballad “The Wind Cries Mary”, written by Jimi Hendrix and lastly two items performed by our acclaimed choir Con Anima,  “Danny Boy” and “The Chameleon”.

Also announced at the evening celebrations were the 2023 Manu Taupua Matua - Joseph Asfaw and the deputy Manu Taupua - Conor Chesney, Ryan Mallon and Constantine Saunoa-Tasele.  The 2023 House Captains were also named:  Chanel - Aloali’i Fa’aita;  Kennedy - Francis Arnold;  Redwood - Petonio Foaese and Watters - Aidan Chesney.
