2024 O'Shea Shield Joint Winners
We were joint winners with St Peter’s College in Palmerston North with equal points of 41. It is the first time in the shield’s 75-year history that St Peter’s has won it and because this is also their 50th jubilee year they will display the shield for the next six months and then it will come to us.
We also won trophies for debating (best affirmative) and impromptu speaking.
The O’Shea Shield is a competition among the 17 secondary Catholic colleges in the Wellington and Palmerston North dioceses.
This year’s competition was hosted by Sacred Heart College in Napier from Thursday to Saturday last week.
We last won the shield in 2019.
We were joint runners-up in 2021 and fourth in 2023.
Due to Covid-19 the competition was not held in 2020 and 2022.
