2025 Senior Sportsman of the Year
Congratulations to national triathlon champion Connor Kemp, who was named Sportsman of the Year on Thursday night.
The Year 13 student has had a memorable year.
Connor won the NZ Secondary School U19 triathlon race in Wanaka in March, he was selected in the New Zealand cross country team and broke the McEvedy Shield Senior 3000m record, a mark that had stood for 11 years.

The sports prizegiving evening was a wonderful night, with around 500 people in attendance.
The event was brilliantly hosted by broadcaster Jason Pine.
The major winners were:
- Sportsman of the Year: Connor Kemp (Triathlon, Athletics, Cross Country)
- Junior Sportsman of the Year: Tyler Gilmour (Football, Futsal, Athletics)
- Sports allrounder (three sports at a high level): Tom Bracewell (1st XI Cricket, 1st XV Rugby and Athletics)
- Team of the Year: Under 15 A football (Wellington champions, 3rd at North Island Champs)
- Coach of the Year: Blake Inder (U15 A Football)
- Official of the Year: Aston Jetly (Basketball referee)
- Volunteer of the Year: Grainne Moss (Waterpolo and Hockey)
